marianne weekes

Hi, I’m Marianne (Mari),

I’ve been writing Mari’s World since Jan 2010 when I started for hobby and for the love of writing. I’m still here writing about anything that takes my fancy and still dreaming of writing a good book one day.

I was at home with my baby twins in January 2010 and I needed something to do so my brother suggested I started writing a blog and Mari’s World was born.

I have been writing ever since. And taking photographs. And trying my hand at video too. Oh and cultivating all the social channels that go with a blog too!

I write about me and my life, what I like and what I do, so you will find an ever growing collection of my favourite recipes, you’ll find notes on our travels and holidays and you’ll find articles and posts on my interests as a woman living in the UK raising children, being a wife, a sister and a good friend.

Please excuse this blurry photo, it was taken at a wedding last year by a friend who’d had a few but it’s still one of my favourites as we are all smiling and laughing.

Weekes family

I am mum to four children, two are adults with their own families and live in Italy and the youngest are twins born in 2008. We live in the south east of England close enough to London for dad to get to work but also close enough to get to the beach at the weekend.

October 2015 saw me return to work. I was offered a job as a part time Social Media executive for James Villa Holidays, you can read about my waiting game after the interview. I love my job and it has taken up a lot of my time which was previously dedicated to blogging. Therefore, I don’t review as many products as I once did and I can’t get a new post up every day as I don’t have the time.

However, I’m not ready to let my blog go yet so I keep it ticking over with ice cream recipes for Sage and we’re part of the Nintendo Family Blogger group too this year which we are all excited about.

You can find me on all the social channels, Instagram is my favourite these days.

Hi Mari- enjoyed the blog. Would you be interested in a copy of my book, “Raising Able: how chores cultivate capable young people” to review?

You might get some good ideas for your twins and family chores.

I could send you an electronic copy.
let me know if you’re interested.
