*Squeal* I’ve been nominated!!!

BiBs 2014

Mari’s World is one of the 16 shortlisted for an award in the BiBs Family category!

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

After four long years of learning this ‘trade’ and boy have I made some mistakes, I have finally been nominated for an award AND reached the shortlist. Gobsmacked doesn’t cover it, amazed, jubilated, very big words that mean I am over-the-actual-moon just about describe how happy I am.

By the way, what do you think of the new look? I thought it was time for a shake up so have been working with a Fairy (more to come about that) on a makeover. I’d love to know what you think. PS I’m still in the process of assigning old posts to their new homes – bear with me.

Anyway, back to the BiBs. Can you believe it? Little old me has been plucked out of over 6000 hundred million (almost) blogs and now I have two choices

  1. Bask in the glory of arriving at this point
  2. Hassle every reader to vote me through to the next stage GO HERE AND CLICK VOTE NOW

Out of the 16 blogs shortlisted in each category ONLY 6 WILL PASS THROUGH TO FINALIST do I make myself clear *ahem*

In order for Mari’s World to make it I need your vote, the other 15 in my category are, very rightly so, asking the exact same request to their readers so come on peeps, can we do this? Can we make Mari’s World reach that Finalist list?

What does it mean to me?

You’d be surprised to know the opportunities that open up from what may seem, an inconsequential occasion such as this one. I have seen other bloggers in previous years take off and fly. I’ve watched them learn, discover, bring back news of distant places. I’ve watched them become more confident, happier and I’ve seen the fantastic opportunities they have enjoyed with their families.

I have been writing now for 4 years and yes the first couple of years were absolute trash. I recognise that now and I thank those readers who stuck with me through thick and thin – THANK YOU, you know who you are. I’d like to think I honed my craft, I got a bit better at it and thanks to my readers I continued and pushed on in what, for me, was a completely unknown area, I’m still learning today.

I will continue to learn. I will continue to report back on products, recipes and family life as it is here in Mari’s World. I hope you continue to enjoy it and if you have the time of a click then please nip over to the survey, search for the Family category and put a tick by my name.

I may not reach the Finalist list, us Brits hate asking and being forthright but, IF on the night I am watching the awards I think to myself “I could have done more” I will kick myself for not having at least asked so hear my plea and click here now in case you missed the link above

Thank you for listening as always

Mari xx

Well done for making the shortlist, and I love the look of your website. The colours are fab and soft, the overall look clean and it is easy to navigate. I love the two font used for the logo. Great choices! Mel #MBPW

Congratulations Marianne! I know how you feel – was incredibly excited myself to be on shortlist as never enter any competitions apart from the odd Sudoku puzzle in the newspaper. There’s so much talent around that the standard is very high too in Blogging so even better to get to this stage. Hope to meet you at The Brewery – I’ll be the one looking torn between wanting to talk with everyone and sitting in a quiet room (is there one !!!) a bit overwhelmed by so many amazing people xx
