I opened it up to discover three of Heston’s exclusive seasonal creations, a Hidden Chocolate Sauce Pudding – my kind of Christmas pud Heston that’s for sure, a box of his Spiced Shortcrust Mince Pies and a Heston Chocolate Box.
I started with the Chocolate Box and boy what a journey on the taste buds it was! Flavours include Thyme and Rosemary, Earl Grey, Black Forest Gateau and my favourite of all the Spiced Caramel. I’m usually pretty good with chocolates and have no trouble demolishing a hefty stack in minutes but Heston’s aren’t for the quick, chuck-and-gulp-aholics. His chocs require thought and appreciation as you savour the multitude of tastes each one contains.
To my enormous disappointment my Chocolate Box didn’t contain one of Waitrose’s hidden tickets – booo! If you do find one in your box, you and a guest will get to join Heston for an unforgettable food experience, a tour of his pubs and restaurants, lunch, dinner and a stay in a top five star hotel in London. Click that link above for more information
There is also a sixth ticket available on the Waitrose Facebook page You have to complete Heston’s Chocolate Challenge Game to be in with a chance to win though so my advice is buy a box first so you’re more likely to get the answers right ;)
A very quick mention of the Spiced Shortcrust Mince Pies before I go, they are delicious but don’t open and eat like I did. No – look for the sachet of tangerine flavoured sugar to sprinkle on top first and then eat. Mind blowing
As for my Hidden Chocolate Sauce Christmas Pudding, you’ll have to wait to hear about it as I’m saving it for the Big Day
Thanks Heston x
Disclosure: I was sent a surprise parcel and I was so impressed I decided to tell you all a bout it
