I Can Sing a Rainbow – The Gallery

I’m rolling two posts into one this Wednesday as Tara has prompted us with Colour for The Gallery this week and I need to get  a twin post in for the Multiple Mayhem Carnival held over at Rebecca’s blog Here Comes The Girls on Friday and anyway, when I look at my girls, their clothes, their toys it is an explosion of colour. There is no quiet contemporary look in this house!

children playing on the beachThankfully they have started sharing more of their preschool experience with me now and one thing they are both very taken with is singing the Rainbow Song. Apparently the teachers choose various children to represent the individual colours of the rainbow depending on what colour clothes they are wearing that day….you’ve got it haven’t you? We now have discussions on what to wear to preschool every day where I have to convince each twin to wear the stuff I had planned, ‘Look at this lovely orange?’

Everything was going swimmingly well until one day Alice returned from preschool rather upset that she hadn’t been chosen that day pointing out ‘Just look at this beautiful yellow, mummy!’ to strengthen her case!

building sandcastlesI remember months back teaching the girls to draw a rainbow too as with one easy arch of the pencil a few times changing colour as you go et voila! You have a rainbow. Now I have an entire folder full of rainbows and I’ll sneakily admit to throwing some out as I there are only so many rainbows I can home.

I love the fact they one of them will burst into song at any time, loudly, off key but with enormous smiles on their faces. They love singing and are getting together quite a repertoire thanks to preschool where I think they sing most days. So I give you ladies and gentlemen I Can Sing a Rainbow, by Alice and Bessie

The girls keep asking to watch it again as they think it’s hilarious Bessie falling on Teddy at the end of the film – the laughterI am getting and alice is annoyed as I edited her falling on Teddy out! #cantwin

…cutesville! Lovely to see your girls in ‘real life’…they are so lovely to watch, playing off of each other…fascinating! Watching them bounce up and down as they’re singing made me think how much energy you must need to keep up with them all day! As a *ahem* slightly older Mum, I had better up my sleep as once Little Miss Red starts walking/talking, I will have 2 energy busters too!

They are very energetic but it’s also a lot of fun too, also my two are in bed and asleep by 7.30pm every day which is a godsend for me as allows me some metime and recharge too

Lovely girls and great colours as well.  We always take a photo of the best pictures/artwork before ditching them.  Our children are 10 and 8 so we we get rid of most things the second they come through the door now, only the best go on display and only the fantastic are kept forever.  I realised a few years ago that we would have so much more living space if we didn’t feel obliged to keep EVERYTHING they draw/make.

That’s lovely. Do they like the same colours? Mine are too little to like colours at the moment but they seem to prefer to be wearing the same thing.

Thanks for linking to the multiple carnival.

Very cute: what little stars! I love it when ours sing too. Ellie is a great singer & dancer, & Jake – is enthusiastic! How did you do those fancy effects, if you don’t mind my asking?

I am using iMovie and those special effects are all uploaded ready to use. All I do is cut and paste and write the text where I want it. I think Windows Movie Player does something similar too, you must make some video’s of them , my girls love to watch themselves over and over ;)

That is just gorgeous! You little ones start school this set too don’t they? Noah does as well! I am scared, they all look too little! x
