‘Wanted by no one, hunted by everyone’ really captured my interest and from those words i just couldn’t wait to start reading it!

Half Bad cover

Half Bad is the story of Nathan, a boy who grows up in a world where witches are real, and he is one. In a race against time before he turns 17. In a world where he is hunted, Nathan runs away in a bid to find his father to discover the truth about his life.

Join Nathan in his whirlwind of a journey in the amazing new novel Half Bad.

I really enjoyed this book and couldn’t put it down, it was such a page turner! I literally didn’t do anything but read the book last weekend! It was easy to get into and I loved seeing how the story would evolve. I enjoyed exploring a whole new world, that was right on my door step! I could easily interact with the characters and found myself completely invested into this book. The characters are so relatable and I loved seeing how the story would turn out, with such great twists along the way. A great fast-paced adventure that will leave you wanting more.
This book would be great for any teen who loves a good page turner and fantasy book. Any Harry Potter fan would also love it.

I just can’t WAIT to read the next book, I am on tenterhooks waiting for it!

I just LOVE  trying out new beauty products and brands, as well as treating myself to items I see in store.
Here are just a few of my top products that I always end up going back to!

Lush Candy Mountain bubble bar

Lush Candy Mountain bubble car

When it comes to Lush I just can’t help myself! I will literally use anything from that store!
This Candy Mountain bubble bar is a staple in my bathroom. It makes my bath pink and the bubbles are great fun! The glitter also makes bath time so much more enjoyable.
I am a huge Lush fan and really, any bath bomb of theirs is absolutely fabulous in my opinion, especially the ones that contain vanilla!

Elvive Smooth and Polish shampoo and conditioner

Elvive Smooth and Polish shampoo and conditioner

This is another must have on my list! I tried it a few months back and have continued to buy it every time! The formula creates a great finish on my hair and it keeps control of the annoying fly aways that keeping popping up. The large bottles last me forever and I can always find them at half price in Boots or Superdrug so I haven’t even payed full price for a bottle yet!
A definite fave that will constantly be on my shelf!

Grace Cole hand cream

Grace and Cole hand cream

This Grace Cole hand cream is brand new in stores and I picked it up last weekend shopping with my friend. I was instantly drawn to it from the packaging and style. I have been looking for a pump hand cream for ages but haven’t found a good one until I saw this. It looks pretty and smells good too! It leaves my hands feeling silky smooth after using just a tiny amount so really does last a long time.
I have only used it for a week but I already love it!

In honour of World Book Day on Thursday, I thought I would write a post on why books are so amazing.

World Book Day 2014

World Book Day 2014

1. As soon as you open up a book, you enter a whole new world.
Each book you open up has new things waiting for you, new experiences and new universes. Every book is different and unique, offering billions of circumstances.

2. A book gives you the freedom to decide what goes on.
A film shows you exactly what the characters look like, what the world looks like and how everything is shown. However, when reading a book, it gives you the opportunity to  choose what goes on and how everything looks, in your own head.

3. A book is portable.
You can take a book anywhere and everywhere! You can read it on an aeroplane, a car journey or a boat trip. The versatile nature means you can continue your story wherever you want and not matter about connecting to the internet or whether it will run out of charge!

4. You can pick up a book whenever you want, no commitment needed!
However much time you have in a day, you can read a book. No commitment is needed, you don’t have to finish a whole book, you can read a page if you want!

5. You can learn from books.
Whether it is a situation you have experienced or about to experience yourself, every book has something to learn from. A message that you can take away or even an experience that you now know how to handle just a little bit better, every book has something important to take away from it.

Happy World Book Day everyone!

Dandelion Clocks

With a similar theme to The Fault in our Stars, we follow the journey of Olivia,  a young girl who finds out that her mother has a life threatening illness and has to learn how to deal with it, as well as having to cope with the issues of everyday life, along with helping her autistic brother Isaac.

A typical 12 year old who loves taking photos, Liv finds it hard to come to terms with her mothers illness and the effects of what this has to bring. We see her compete with the struggles of this, as well as  reading her down to earth views as a child on the matter, with her thoughts and feelings laid plain.
This book shows the love and the relationship that can only be created between a mother and daughter but how it stays strong, no matter what happens, no matter the obstacles.

If any young teen out there has read The Fault in our Stars then this is definitely a book for you!

A great book for any teen who may be going through an experience like this or just wants a touching book to read.

I loved this book and from starting to read it on Monday evening, I couldn’t put it down until I had finished it! As a teenager myself, I could easily relate to her issues in everyday life, from boy troubles to best friends! It made me think about my own life and how lucky I was, as well as just simply enjoying the read and being on the ride with Liv.

An uplifting book that makes any reader stop and think, but it also great for an easy read.
Any fan of Jacqueline Wilson or Cathy Cassidy will also love this book!

Today I am hosting a guest post written by my 13 year old niece Rosie who writes her own blog. When Warner Brothers asked me to review Vampire Diaries in light of the upcoming new season, I knew with Dallas on my hands it would be difficult to get them both done in time so I asked Rosie. She hadn’t watched them before but agreed to do it anyway, possibly a bit worried her aunt was going to give her something really weird to watch.

The email I got back said

I have finished the review!!!! It is honestly one of my favourite tv shows ever now and i am totally buying the books and other seasons! Can i post this review on my blog as well or not? I totally dont mind either way!

Thanks for season 1 xxx

Yes a very excited teenager I think you’ll agree, if you are also wondering what all the hype is about – read on for Rosie’s review, she also reviews books, she likes to cook and loves painting her nails, take a look at her blog and you’ll see My Head and Me

the vampire diaires

The Vampire Diaries, a review by Rosie

This is the smash hit series, The Vampire Diaries from ITV 2 on DVD. When I first got the DVD I decided to watch it as a treat, just the first episode for tonight then maybe tomorrow, another episode to make the Dvds last longer. That did not happen! Let’s just say they lasted about 4 nights with me watching them! Even in the first minute you get gripped!

At the beginning you might think it is your normal ‘Edward and Bella’ romance and it might be just like Twilight but no, it’s so much more. As you watch you discover a whole new take on vampires which, I have to say, is exciting!
This is a great movie for any teenager. There is so much suspense and the suspension is great! I personally love the moments when you can tell something bad is going to happen like a vampire coming to hunt and feed! The whole atmosphere is so amazingly created and it was truly addictive.
As soon as the first episode was over I was hungry for more, so I simply pressed play! That is the beauty of having the whole season on Dvd. The fact you can just press play and watch episode after episode, without having to wait a whole week for the next instalment is fantastic, especially if you are like me and just can’t wait a week for it!

the vampire diaires

The characters are played so well, it just makes the episodes more realistic and believable. I have to say, one of the main brothers (Damon Salvatore) is very, very(!!) fit with his dark,  mysterious looks and charms!
As a lover of fashion, I love when there are moments when the story goes back in time and you can see the late 19th century dresses which are amazingly pretty and make me wish I owned a dress like that!

I realised they have made 3 seasons and season 4 is due to come out in October! I am so excited! I hope to see more romance and lots more bloodsucking vampires! I cannot say what else I would like to see as I have not yet finished the first season, let alone the others. I have one more episode left on season 1 which I will watch the night before I go back to school, as a treat… No wait that’s a lie I won’t be able to wait, I will have to watch it tonight, and when I am done I am straight off to eBay to buy season 2 box set and ALL the books in The Vampire Diaries series!
I can’t wait to sink my teeth into series 2!
