I’m Marianne, mum of four; two born from an Italian marriage and 19 years in Italy. They are now young adults and parents themselves, Gracey my granddaughter will be 3 in August and we are expecting a baby boy in March – watch this space!
My twin girls were born in 2008 here in the UK. After a long, fraught uphill journey to conceive which I have written about. They are a joy and I am loving this return to motherhood even more than the first time round.
My oldest children live in North Italy and work with their father in the family hotels – I live with my partner and the twins in Kent.
I have worked in the hotel and catering industry, in tourism and in publishing but now find myself a full time SAHM. I started writing Mari’s World back in Jan 2010 and haven’t looked back since, the blog has grown with me and I find it becoming more and more representative of the Great British Housewife, the trials we’re up against in the current recession, the fear of redundancy hanging over everyone’s head and the not knowing what’s waiting around the corner whilst trying to keep a neat and tidy ship steering in the direction of family happiness.
I review products, I write some posts to help pay the bills which can be clearly identified and I write about me and my family, my thoughts and my opinions. I love cooking and needlework, reading – though I don’t have much time these days – and a new passion, gardening! I’m not an expert on any of them but I do like to get stuck in and give it a go.
I’m a Craniac, a Butlins Official Mum Ambassador and I am trialing the MuTu System too but I’m always on the lookout for new adventures and challenges, please look at my Challenge Mari page to see what I have accomplished in 2011!
If you are organising an event and would like me there I would love to attend but I ask if my return fares can be covered rather than dip into the ever dwindling housekeeping.
