Time Traveller: The Travel Bloggers Linky

Time Traveller - Travel bloggers linky

A Time Traveller is someone who can move between different times in the past and the future.

Is that you? Do you think about past holidays that were really good fun? Do you think and plan future holidays? I do, I dream of the day I can take the girls to Disney in Florida, I’ve already told you about my Mexico dream and a secret desire of mine is to one day trek Machu Picchu.

I have a bucket list as long as the Mississippi, which I hope to sail on one day and basically cannot get enough of seeing and experiencing new places.

But one of my favourite pastimes is to go through photo albums and flick through the hundreds of photos of places I have been too, food I have tried like the Oysters in France – possibly not my most becoming photo, they were very salty.

Since becoming  a blogger I take even more photos, there’s a cloud up there somewhere with my name on it groaning at the weight of images I save for future blog posts that somehow in the busy family/work life get forgotten. I keep meaning to write them up so I am setting myself a challenge.

Write about one travel related experience a week.

The Time Traveller Linky

Then I got excited because I imagined that there were lots of other bloggers out there with tons of material to write up like me, days out (I have three posts waiting to be completed for over a year), the fabulous family holiday that never got written up, even places you went to before you started blogging. I really must tell you about Key West in Florida and all my Italian posts still waiting to be written up.

If this is you then join me. You don’t have to do one a week – that’s for me to push myself a bit but feel free to join me if you need pushing too.

Thursday will be the day as it allows for some good reading time over the weekend

The rules are very simple

  • Your post must be travel related. It can be a day out, a weekend away or a longer break.
  • You can use posts from your archives or write something new.
  • You can write about places you visited before you started blogging, scan the photos, re write and relive the experience, tell us all about it.
  • This Linky is about sharing, please don’t dump a link and run. Read some posts, leave a comment on them. I aim to visit everyone who links up, be patient as I will fit my comments around my family and work.
  • Please leave a comment on this post.

I’ve made a pretty badge for all Time Travellers that I welcome you to use on your blog but it’s not compulsory

Time Travellers

Now for the link up. I have chosen a thumbnail so you can use one of your photos and here’s the first link, welcome to the Time Traveller’s Club

What a lovely idea! I love looking over old pictures and the kids are always digging in the photo box and laughing over memories!

I love visiting my mum’s and going through our photo albums, holidays really are the best times for families and it’s so lovely to look back on them too. Thanks for joining in xx

I too have a stack of posts I’ve been meaning to do. Hopefully this will help nudge me in that direction. Until then, I’ve linked up one of the posts from a trip I took to Istanbul. Istanbul is in the news a lot lately for political reasons. It’s easy to forget what an amazing place it is to visit.

    • April 2, 2015 / 10:15 AM

Thank you Jen, I’ve never been to Istanbul so I will enjoy reading your post and discovering more. Thanks for joining in

What a wonderful idea! I’ll be here every week for a bit, as I have tons of travel posts from the archives – and hopefully will be writing more over the next few months! My first is one from years ago (hence the smaller pictures than usual) – our self-catering break in Andalucia, Spain.

    • April 2, 2015 / 10:19 AM

Ohhh I can’t get enough of Spain, we’re off to the Costa Calida very soon and i would LOVE to visit Andalucia one day, the closest I have got so far was interviewing Antonio Banderas *sigh*
Thank you for joining in, I look forward to reading more of your adventures.

I try not to think of the past as makes me so upset the future is the best and positive.

Will be back to link up too!

    • April 3, 2015 / 5:44 PM

Ohhh have I inspired you Mary Louise? I hope so, I look forward to reading one of your posts.

  16. April 3, 2015 / 2:40 PM

A great idea, Mari. For now I will include a post from the very beginning of my blog when I was purely writing up old holiday diaries. It never received any comments at the time – very few of those early posts did. It’s got me thinking about all the trips even pre blogging that I can bring to life.
I can’t seem to get the badge to work. Is there a code to put in? I right click on the image but don’t know what to do next!

    • April 3, 2015 / 5:45 PM

The badge needs fixing so please don’t worry about that, I’ll get round to sorting it out at some point. The important thing is people are joining in and I really enjoyed your Iceland post, so funny. You had me giggling all the way through, Golden balls :D
Thanks so much for joining in, I like the idea of giving the archives another lease of life, let’s hope it works!

  17. April 3, 2015 / 3:09 PM

What a lovely idea to have all the travel posts in one place. I love linkys.

    • April 3, 2015 / 5:46 PM

Thank you Nayna, I must admit it’s been a fascinating read today.

  18. April 3, 2015 / 6:40 PM

Love this idea, we had so many great holidays before children, and before blogging! All my old photos are still in boxes (even though the container with all our worldly belongings arrived last summer…!!), this is a good excuse to hunt them out :) In the meantime, I’m going to have a look through my archive! #pocolo

    • April 4, 2015 / 8:52 AM

It’s the perfect excuse isn’t it? Nothing nicer than going through old photos with a cup of tea as it always takes longer than you expect.
Thanks forpopping by and hope to see some of your posts one day.

  19. April 3, 2015 / 10:19 PM
