January is a difficult month as the days are short, it’s frequently horrible weather and we’re all feeling a bit blue with the festive season behind us so when we woke to wall to wall blue skies on Saturday we decided to head to the coast for a Fish and Chip lunch followed by a winter walk on the north Kent coast.
This was the view that met us as we stepped out of the car, I had my new Canon Powershot camera that Santa had brought me to try out and the girls had brought their new two wheel scooters with them. They’d also brought the Micro Scooters in case they got stuck as it’s a different scoot apparently.
The girls spotted this fab dinosaur that somebody had drawn and of course it wasn’t long before they were writing their names too, shame I couldn’t find a stick though! That would have tied in very nicely with my Stick Man post.
They soon discovered that it’s impossible to scoot on sand even though they they wouldn’t listen to us and had to try themselves.
I loved the green seaweed on the wall and got a shot of Bessie standing there, this shot has been edited in Picmonkey a free online service.
After reading the Better Photo Project on Love All Blogs I wanted to mess around a bit to see what could be done, here’s my before and after
I saw a container ship far out at sea by the windmill farm and wanted to practise the zoom function, it’s ok and I edited it a bit but it would be much better to use a tripod for this kind of shot as it was very wobbly.
We scooted to the next bay for a cup of coffee and I think this is a clear sign that we need to get dad a Micro Scooter too!
My final shot of the day was looking up at the girls playing on the terrace above. If it wasn’t for their hats and coats, with the blue sky behind and a white terrace wall they could be in Spain, Greece or Italy here.
