I will admit to being totally blown away by all of the products I saw last Thursday at the Marks and Spencer A/W 13 launch. It is no secret I am a massive M&S fan, one of my favourite pink cardigans is now 10 years old and still looks as good as new which speaks volumes for the quality control in place and in fact it was speaking to the innovation and quality control team that this concept really shone out.
You can see all of my M&S AW13 photos on the Mari’s World Facebook page where you can download them too please like the page if you haven’t already too.
First off – accessories and as you can see lots of fun and colour has been used. There seems to be an undercurrent awakening of the 80’s punk running though the woman’s collection noted even more in the London Calling range which is fun, eye catching and smart too.
Couldn’t resist these beautiful necklaces which will make the plainest outfit scream for attention
and these boots?
Then I had a look a the Modern Elegance collection part of the M&S womeswear, rails and rails of items that will always work, pieces that I would class as investment pieces as they will run happily from one year into the next
I was amazed at the attention to detail on so many products, take a look at the photo of the white blouse below, do you suffer from blouses opening between buttons around the bust area? Well M&S have added two carefully hidden buttons on the inside to prevent this – how clever is that eh?
and just how beautiful is the applique on the red dress? And it’s shift too so won’t show off lumps and bumps either
There are so many coats to choose from you’ll want one in every colour
There’s a focus on Best of British, where the fabrics are sourced in the UK, the products are made in the UK and designed by British talent, both in mens and womens. So inspiring to see our greatest High Street store supporting Britain.
Menswear has been given just as much attention with lots of colour and comfort kept in mind plus some very trendy suits, our men will be drop dead gorgeous this autumn winter
Before you go I want to pass on three vital tips I picked up from the Innovations team for you to look out for this season, dresses that make you lose a dress size, Jeans that lift in all the right places giving you the perfect derriere and School uniform with 24 innovations – post coming very soon as I was totally blown away by it.
There’s more to talk about, lingerie, kids and cashmere jumpers with heavier thread counts but for now I leave you with my favourite piece of the M&S Aw13 collection – a red leather biker jacket *sigh*
